The Seated Glute Activation
Your glutes are meant to be your body's power source, but sitting turns them off almost entirely for hours at a time. This routine uses isometric squeezes and small seated movements to reactivate them without needing to stand up, stretch out, or draw any attention in a meeting.
The Workout
Seated Glute Squeezes
60 secSit tall and squeeze both glutes together as hard as you can, hold for 5 seconds, then release, repeating for the full 60 seconds. This is pure isometric activation, working the muscle without any visible movement, so you can do it in a meeting without anyone noticing.
Seated Marching
60 secLift one knee up toward your chest, then lower it and lift the other, alternating at a steady pace. This engages your hip flexors and glutes together, restoring some of the coordination sitting takes away, without needing to leave your seat.
Seated Figure-4 Stretch
60 secCross one ankle over the opposite knee and gently lean forward from your hips, holding 30 seconds per side. This opens up the glutes and outer hip, which tighten from being compressed under you all day.
Seated Pelvic Clock
60 secSitting tall, gently tilt your pelvis forward and back in a slow, controlled circle, like tracing a clock face with your hips. This wakes up the small stabilizing muscles around your hips and glutes that stay completely still during normal sitting.
